Description
Professor Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu is an accomplished traditional Turkish arts scholar and artist. He has been a professor in the Traditional Turkish Arts Department of the Fine Arts Faculty at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University since August 2018 and is also head of the University’s Book-Binding Art Department. Professor Açıkgözoğlu has conducted research and lectured on book arts, inscriptions and Ottoman architecture. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions both in Türkiye and abroad, including exhibitions at Topkapı Palace, Dolmabahçe palace and a variety of art galleries, universities, and government buildings. In addition to this, he held private exhibitions of ‘Classical Turkish Marbling’ in Istanbul, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Pristina, Sarajevo and Budapest. Açıkgözoğlu currently continues to take part in TIKA’s Ottoman artefacts revival projects.
