Sibel Pekgöz is a Turkish artist born in Amasya, who graduated from the GÜMEF Fine Arts Ceramics Department. Between 1994 and 2017, she taught ceramics and tile arts in Türkiye’s Nevşehir, Konya and Ankara provinces. While working at the Ankara Olgunlaşma Enstitüsü, she participated in projects and exhibitions such as Seljuk, Sumerian, Hittite, Ottoman period Kaftans, Endemic Anatolian Flowers, Mevlana, Matrakçı Nasuh, Anadolu Yıldızları, Piri Reis and Kalyon, while creating her own artistic works.
Pekgöz moved to London in 2017 and has continued producing artworks since. Her primary goal as an artist is to create her own work by adapting traditional patterns to her style and combining elements of past and present tile arts.
